These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Institute for Good Governance website (the "Site"), including any online payments, membership applications, and access to content. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms.

1. Definitions

  • "Institute", "we", "us" means the Institute for Good Governance, a non-profit company registered under section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017.
  • "User", "you" means any person or entity accessing the Site.
  • "Member", "Associate" means an individual or institution admitted under the Institute's membership framework after signing the Code of Ethics (Annex B).
  • "Site" means iggpk.com and all its subpages.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any part of the Site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Refunds Policy. If you become a Member or Associate, you will also be required to sign the Code of Ethics (Annex B), which is a separate agreement and independent of these Terms.

3. Modifications to Terms

The Institute reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date". Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

4. Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use of the Site.

Prohibited activities include:

  • Harassing, abusing, or threatening others.
  • Posting or transmitting false, defamatory, obscene, or offensive content.
  • Uploading viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, servers, or databases.
  • Using the Site for any political campaigning, party political activity, or personal financial gain unrelated to the Institute.

5. Intellectual Property

  • Ownership: All content on the Site – including policy papers, research reports, logos, graphics, text, and the National Charter for Governance Reforms – is the exclusive property of the Institute or its content licensors and is protected by Pakistani and international copyright laws.
  • Limited License: You may view, download, and print content for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without prior written permission from the Institute.
  • Trademarks: The name "Institute for Good Governance" and the Institute's logo are trademarks of the Institute. Unauthorised use is prohibited.

6. Online Payments, Membership & Refunds

  • Payments: All fees (membership, associateship, event registration, donations) are processed through our secure third-party payment gateway (e.g., Stripe/PayGate). By making a payment, you agree to the terms of that gateway and our Refunds Policy.
  • Refunds: Refund eligibility is governed exclusively by the Refunds Policy posted on the Site. No refunds will be issued outside that policy.
  • Membership/Associateship: Admission is subject to approval by the Institute. We reserve the right to reject any application without giving a reason. Once admitted, you must abide by the Code of Ethics (Annex B).

7. Links to Third-Party Websites

The Site may contain links to external websites. These links are provided for convenience only. The Institute does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content or practices of any third-party site.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

  • The Site and all content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. The Institute makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the operation or availability of the Site, or the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content.
  • The Institute does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Pakistani law, the Institute for Good Governance, its Advisory Council members, officers, and employees shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid to the Institute (if any) in the preceding six months.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Institute and its representatives from any claims, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, applicable laws, or the rights of any third party.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
  • Jurisdiction: Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lahore, Pakistan.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

13. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refunds Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Institute for Good Governance regarding your use of the Site. The Code of Ethics (Annex B) remains a separate, additional agreement for Members and Associates.
